Dan Wright |
Biography
Dan Wright made his debut in the rain affected match at Genetics aged 14. Son of Howard Wright who played in the same game. Started keeping wicket for the 2XI in his second game for the side before injury ended season. Moved to play senior cricket at Prudhoe during 2007 before returning to keep wicket in the 1XI in 2008. Scored his first fifty for the Club in the Friendly side against Victorians during 2008 and the following week in his first senior bowl for the Club recorded figures of 5-20 against Alnmouth. During July Dan scored 2 consecutive fifties for the U18s, the first player to do so since 1989 and shared in a Midweek 5th wicket record partnership with Matt Smart of 68 as the side won its first cup match since 2003.
Was named best Junior at the AGM and received he Parker Trophy. His performances in the 1XI and at the County trials saw Dan selected in the Northumberland County U18 squad for the 2009 season. |
