Simon Raw

Biography 
Joined club in 1996, father, David Raw played for Whitley Bay. Unable to keep after injury sustained in first game as 2XI wicketkeeper.

Started playing for the Midweek side in 2005 and took over as Captain in 2006. Adapted his game successfully in the 2006 season to finish with a Midweek average of 40 and a career best 75* against Percy Main, sharing a 159 run partnership with George Hall (77) against Percy Main. During the 2007 season Simon became the ninth player to score 1,000 runs in friendly matches and he claimed his only wicket to date against Blagdon Park in the last game before his wedding.

Took part in his second century partnership for the Midweek side in 2009, again against Percy Main, with 104 for the second wicket with Howard Wright. Passed 1,000 runs in the Midweek side during the game against Benwell & Walbottle, the 8th to reach this mark. Top run scorer in the league with 323 runs, finishing 7th in the averages.
