Biography
Duncan made his debut for the club in friendlies in 1986, and returned playing in friendlies in 1993. In 1994 he joined the Club to play league cricket for the 1XI. Became the 1XI Captain in the 1998 and 1999 seasons and recorded the best ever 1XI figures with 9-37 in 1998 against Northern Electric and guided the side to promotion back to the Northumberland Premier League and the Barlow Cup in his first season. After batting in the top five he has slipped down the batting order in recent years.
Took 4-8 off 10 overs when Greenside were dismissed for a league record low of 14 in 2007, his 4th wicket was his 400th league wicket for the 1XI, the third person to reach this landmark for the club. Became the first player ever to be timed out when he failed to make it to the wicket in time against Lanchester in a 1XI fixture. In the 2008 season took a hat-trick against Consett Away, the first for the side in 32 years. In 2009 recorded the remarkable figures of 5-1 as league leaders Chopwell were reduced from 122-2 to 124 all out, the cheapest 5 wicket haul recorded for the club since the war, the performance saw him become the first player to receive the 1XI performance trophy, The Lawson Rosebowl, 4 times.
Early in the 2010 season Duncan became the first player to take 200 wickets for the 1XI in the Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League.
