James Sayers |
Biography
James played in the 1XI while aged 14 (according to the newspapers) in 1985 and played until 1994. Scored a century in the 2XI in the 1990 season in the same game as John Jessop, the only time that two Ponteland players have scored centuries in the same game the partnership of 230 for the 2nd wicket is the highest club stand. James also took part in what was at the time the highest first wicket stand for the 2XI, 189 with Ian Crookes when he scored his highest score of 115 (Passed in 2006) and the highest 4th wicket stand of 168 with Richard Welbury in 1990. |
