Ron Fairweather
Biography 
Ron made his debut in 1966 in 2XI, playing the majority of his career in the 1XI. His 9-45 in 1977 was, at the time, the best 1XI figures for the Club. Won the League Bowling award in 1981, the first Ponteland player to do so (John Clark won the Divisional Award in 1975). Took 4 wickets in 4 deliveries against Ashington in a 1XI Cup match in 1982 and a hat-trick in 1972 against North Walbottle.In his 1XI career Ron recorded 4 wickets or more in an innings more times than he took none! Played 1 2XI game in 2004 recording figures of 13-7-11-1. Still playing in 2005 in the Midweek side, in his second match of 2005 at Benwell Hill Ron took his 200th wicket for the side, the first player to do so with Alan Varley also taking his 200th in the last game of the season.

Ron retired from playing at the end of the 2006 season and was presented with the Jameson Cup for his efforts. Ron was also voted in to the position of President to follow Roy Storer.
